Cold Settling Into East, Exiting Plains Tuesday

Lake-effect snow, cold air for the East Coast, Great Lakes. Strong winds for the Plains again.

A strong storm system continues to move through the Eastern U.S. on Monday, with some stronger thunderstorms on the East Coast and snow wrapping up around the Great Lakes. Cold air flooding in behind the system will continue lake-effect snow for Tuesday and bring some cold air to the East Coast as well. But extreme warmth building in the West will leak out over the Rockies and into the High Plains on Tuesday. That warmth will cause a band of snow to move through the Upper Midwest and some stronger winds in the Plains again.
