Major Cold Front Moving Into the North Thursday
Clippers and accompanying rains move east Thursday and very cold temps move into the northern U.S.
A pair of clipper systems continue to move through the Midwest on Wednesday afternoon with a string of showers moving through the Lower Mississippi Valley as well. All these features will move eastward on Thursday and lake-effect snow will continue across the Great Lakes. Behind this, an extremely strong cold front will move south into the northern U.S. on Thursday, bringing a crushing burst of arctic cold straight from the North Pole and set up a major winter storm across the southern half of the country for Friday through the weekend.
