Heavy Snow and Arctic Air to Impact the Plains, Upper Midwest

A large storm system will continue to work from west to east across the Plains later Friday before entering the Upper Midwest on Saturday. Eastern Iowa, northern Illinois, and southern Wisconsin could see at least 6-12 inches of snow in some spots by early Sunday. A blast of cold, arctic air will move across the north-central U.S. behind this system as sub-zero temperatures could develop across the Northern Plains early next week.
