Heat Continues to Spread East Tuesday

An extreme heatwave continues to build over the northern tier of the country Monday afternoon. Temperatures in the 90s with some places getting into the 100s are occurring. That heat will continue on Tuesday, spreading more into the Great Lakes as well. Across the South and Southeast, a weakness in the upper levels is leading to widespread showers and thunderstorms. Slow-moving cells are producing heavy rain and a risk for flooding. That also continues for Tuesday.
