Strong Front Moving Through US Thursday

Scattered rain showers and thunderstorms along the front, while snow and strong winds across the north could create blizzard conditions.

A storm system is moving into the southern Canadian Prairies on Wednesday afternoon. Scattered rain showers are falling south across the Northern Plains while snow is building in the Canadian Prairies. Strong winds are also blowing across portions of the Plains as well. The low-pressure center will travel eastward along the border through Thursday. Its cold front will sweep across the Plains tonight and through the middle of the country for Thursday. Scattered rain showers and some thunderstorms are expected along the front. Snow will wrap around the backside of the low across the far north and strong winds could create blizzard conditions at times. But snowfall amounts are not expected to be all that heavy on this side of the border.
