Weekly Export Sales and Shipments

Total corn sales commitments for 2024-25 are up 27% from a year ago; soybean sales commitments are 12% higher than a year ago. Wheat export sales commitments for 2025-26 are up 22% from a year ago.

OMAHA (DTN) — USDA’s Weekly Export Sales and Shipments report listed net corn sales of 72.2 million bushels (mb). Soybean net sales totaled 29.2 mb. Wheat net sales were 11.7 mb. Corn and soybean numbers are 2024-25 and 2025-26 crops, combined, and include cancellations for old-crop sales. Wheat sales are 2025-26 and a small amount of 2026-27 crop.

For the week ended Aug. 28, 2025, USDA reported a net cancellation of 11.1 mb (280,900 mt) of corn export sales in 2024-25 and an increase of 83.3 mb (2,117,000 mt) for 2025-26. Last week’s export shipments of 68.6 mb were below the 91.2 mb needed each week to achieve USDA’s export estimate of 2.820 bb in 2024-25. Corn export shipments now total 2.690 billion bushels (bb) in 2024-25 and are up 27% from a year ago. That is ahead of USDA’s estimated pace at a time when USDA’s estimate of U.S. ending corn stocks is the lowest in four years.   

For the week ended Aug. 28, 2025, USDA reported a decrease of 0.9 mb (23,800 mt) of soybean export sales in 2024-25 and an increase of 30.1 mb (818,500 mt) for 2025-26. Last week’s export shipments of 16.8 mb were below the 20.4 mb needed each week to achieve USDA’s export estimate of 1.875 bb in 2024-25. Soybean export shipments now total 1.828 bb in 2024-25 and are up 12% from a year ago. That is ahead of USDA’s estimated pace at a time when USDA’s estimate of U.S. ending soybean stocks is the second highest in five years.    

For the week ended Aug. 28, 2025, USDA reported an increase of 11.5 mb (313,000 mt) of wheat export sales for 2025-26 and an increase of 0.2 mb (5,500 mt) for 2026-27. Last week’s export shipments of 32.7 mb were above the 16.7 mb needed each week to achieve USDA’s export estimate of 875 mb in 2025-26. Wheat export commitments now total 456 mb in 2025-26 and are up 22% from a year ago. That is ahead of USDA’s estimated pace at a time when USDA’s estimate of U.S. ending wheat stocks is the highest in six years.
