General Overview: SIGNIFICANT WINTER WEATHER THREAT FOR THE NORTHEAST WITH FREEZING RAIN POSSIBLE ACROSS NORTHERN NEW ENGLAND. RAIN AND THUNDERSTORMS EXPECTED ALONG THE GULF COAST AND SOUTHEAST ATLANTIC COAST. PACIFIC NORTHWEST WILL SEE PERIODS OF RAIN AND MOUNTAIN SNOW. TEMPERATURES WILL TREND BELOW NORMAL ACROSS THE CENTRAL STATES WHILE THE WEST EXPERIENCES ABOVE NORMAL CONDITIONS.
EAST: A potent low pressure system will impact the Northeast through early week, bringing a variety of precipitation types. Freezing rain is possible across northern New England, particularly in Maine, Vermont, and northern New Hampshire, creating hazardous travel conditions. Mixed precipitation will extend southward through New York and Pennsylvania, while rain will be the primary precipitation type along the Mid-Atlantic coast. As the system moves offshore by Monday evening, precipitation will gradually diminish.
The Southeast and Gulf Coast regions will experience rain and thunderstorms, particularly along coastal areas from Florida through the Carolinas. By midweek, high pressure will build in across the region, leading to drier conditions for most areas. Critical fire weather conditions are possible in parts of the Mid-Atlantic early in the period.

-Days 1-3: Below normal temperatures across the Northeast and northern Mid-Atlantic, with departures of 3-6°F below average. Near normal to slightly above normal temperatures (2-4°F) across the Southeast and Gulf Coast.
-Days 4-6: Below normal temperatures shifting to the Southeast and coastal areas, with departures of 4-8°F below average in the Carolinas and Florida. Near normal temperatures returning to the Northeast.
-Days 7-10: Generally near normal temperatures across most of the East, with slight warming trend by day 10.
CENTRAL: High pressure will dominate the Central Plains and Midwest early in the period, bringing generally dry conditions. A cold front will push through the region by Monday, reinforcing the cooler air mass. Some light precipitation is possible in the Great Lakes region, with mixed precipitation and potential for light snow across parts of Michigan and Wisconsin.
By midweek, a developing low pressure system will move into the Great Lakes, bringing precipitation to the Upper Midwest. This system will bring rain and possibly some mixed precipitation to parts of Minnesota, Wisconsin and Michigan. The Central and Southern Plains will remain mostly dry under high pressure influence.

-Days 4-6: Warming trend begins with temperatures returning to near normal across most of the region. Some below normal temperatures lingering in the Upper Midwest.
-Days 7-10: Above normal temperatures building across the entire Central region, with departures of 6-12°F above average in the Central Plains and Midwest. Particularly warm conditions developing in Missouri, Iowa, and Illinois by days 8-9.
WEST: Multiple weather systems will affect the Pacific Northwest and Northern Rockies through the period. Rain is expected along the Washington and Oregon coasts, with mountain snow in the Cascades. High pressure will dominate the Southwest, bringing dry conditions to California, Nevada, Arizona, and New Mexico.
By midweek, a new system will approach the Pacific Northwest, bringing another round of precipitation to the region. The Southwest will continue to experience dry conditions under high pressure influence. Critical fire weather conditions are possible in parts of Texas and the Southern Plains.
