Isolated Showers and Thunderstorms
Isolated showers and thunderstorms are possible across southern areas with dry conditions expected to the north.
General Overview: A POTENT STORM SYSTEM WILL BRING A VARIETY OF HAZARDOUS WEATHER ACROSS MUCH OF THE EASTERN UNITED STATES THIS WEEKEND. A SEMI QUIETER PATTERN STARTS OFF NEXT WEEK.
EAST: A low-pressure will bring a sweeping cold front into eastern areas today into the start of the weekend. As the system progresses eastward, heavy rain may lead to flooding concerns across the Northeast/Mid-Atlantic today. Behind the cold front, a swath of increased snow chances expected from the Upper Midwest into interior New England.
Temperature Anomalies:
-Days 1-3: Well above normal east of the Rockies, 6-12F above average
-Days 4-6: Cooler behind front, near to slightly below normal
-Days 7-10: Moderating back to above normal
CENTRAL: A cold front will sweep through the region today into the weekend, allowing for shower and thunderstorm chances to remain likely. On the back-end of the front, some scattered snow showers may become possible across the upper-midwest and northern plains. A quieter pattern will remain likely throughout next week outside of some isolated activity.
Temperature Anomalies:
-Days 1-3: Well above normal, 6-12F above average
-Days 4-6: Sharply colder behind front, 6-12F below normal
-Days 7-10: Moderating but still slightly below normal
WEST: Drier conditions likely throughout this weekend outside of some Rocky snow. Another system will push onshore early next week, bringing increasing rain and thunderstorm chances along with mountain snow. An active patter will likely form and continue throughout next week.

-Days 1-3: Above normal, 3-6F above average
-Days 4-6: Slightly cooler but still above normal
-Days 7-10: Continuing above normal temperatures
TROPICAL: No tropical cyclone activity is expected across the Atlantic, Caribbean or Gulf of Mexico during the next 7 days.
