EIA: US NatGas Storage Reports 101 Bcf Weekly Injection
VIENNA (DTN) – Energy Information Administration data released midmorning Thursday (5/21) show a 101 billion cubic feet injection into U.S. natural gas storage to 2.391 trillion cubic feet in the week ended May 15.
Natural gas in U.S. storage is 1.4% higher than last year and 6.6% above the five-year average of 2.242 Tcf.
Regionally, EIA reports the East registered a 31 Bcf injection to 419 Bcf, 1.9% less than a year ago and 1.5% higher than the five-year average.
Natural gas in storage in the Midwest increased 29 Bcf week-on-week to 505 Bcf, a 0.4% deficit compared to the same week a year ago and 0.4% higher than the five-year average.
Mountain region natural gas in storage increased 4 Bcf, up 9.9% year-on-year to 40% above the five-year average.
South Central storage rose 31 Bcf to 972 Bcf, 1.8% less than in the same week last year and 1% above the five-year average.
