OMAHA (DTN) — October live cattle are down $0.78 at $238.75, October feeder cattle are down $1.93 at $361.775, October lean hogs are down $1.35 at $94.2, December corn is down 5 3/4 cents per bushel and December soybean meal is down $1.20. The Dow Jones Industrial Average is down 178.87 points. A few bids are on the table in Kansas and Nebraska at $242. Several dollars below current asking prices of $245 in the South but they are not established in the North as of yet. Significant trade volume will likely be delayed until Thursday or later. Beef cutouts are higher at midday (choice 416.05 +2.63, select 387.76 +1.59) with light to moderate box movement (39 lds of choice cuts, 13 lds of select cuts, 09 lds of trim, and 09 lds of ground), with a choice/select spread of 28.29. Wednesday’s projected cattle slaughter is 120,000. Pork cutouts at midday are 115.22, +1.10, with 262.89 total loads. Wednesday’s projected hog slaughter is 480,000.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average is down 16.20 points. Cash cattle country is off to another slow start this morning with bids and asking prices not established. Significant trade volume will likely be delayed until Thursday and/or Friday. The CME Feeder Index for Sept. 1, 2025, was $0.25 higher at $365.52, the projected CME Lean Hog Index for Sept. 1, 2025, was not available due to the Labor Day holiday.
