Catch-Up Corn, Wheat Export Commitments Continue Higher Than Last Year; Soybeans Lower

Total corn sales commitments for 2025-26 were up 31% from a year ago as of Dec. 11; soybean sales commitments were 33% lower than a year ago; wheat export sales commitments for 2025-26 were up 22% from a year ago.

OMAHA (DTN) — USDA’s catch-up Weekly Export Sales and Shipments report for the week ended Dec. 11 listed net-corn sales of 68.7 million bushels (mb). Soybean net sales totaled 89.0 mb. Wheat net sales were 16.2 mb. Soybean and wheat sales were combined old and new crop. Corn was all 2025-26 delivery.

For the week ended Dec. 11, 2025, USDA reported an increase of 68.7 mb (1,744,100 mt) of corn export sales in 2025-26 and 0 mb (0 mt) for 2026-27. The week’s export shipments of 56.9 mb were below the 61.3 mb needed each week to achieve USDA’s export estimate of 3.200 bb in 2025-26. As of Dec. 11, corn export commitments totaled 1.873 billion bushels (bb) in 2025-26 and were up 31% from a year ago. That is ahead of USDA’s estimated pace at a time when USDA’s estimate of U.S. ending corn stocks is 40% larger than the previous five-year average. 

For the week ended Dec. 11, USDA reported an increase of 88.0 mb (2,396,200 mt) of soybean export sales in 2025-26 and an increase of 1.0 mb (28,500 mt) for 2026-27. The week’s export shipments of 26.5 mb were below the 30.5 mb needed each week to achieve USDA’s export estimate of 1.635 bb in 2025-26. As of Dec. 11, soybean export commitments totaled 947.1 mb in 2025-26 and were down 33% from a year ago. That is behind USDA’s estimated pace at a time when USDA’s estimate of U.S. ending soybean stocks is less than 1% lower than the previous five-year average.    

For the week ended Dec. 11, USDA reported an increase of 15.9 mb (432,600 mt) of wheat export sales for 2025-26 and an increase of 0.3 mb (9,000 mt) for 2026-27. The week’s export shipments of 18.0 mb were above the 16.4 mb needed each week to achieve USDA’s export estimate of 900 mb in 2025-26. As of Dec. 11, wheat export commitments totaled 726 mb in 2025-26 and were up 22% from a year ago. That is ahead of USDA’s estimated pace at a time when USDA’s estimate of U.S. ending wheat stocks is 24% larger than the previous five-year average.
