Wheat, Corn Export Inspections Higher Than Last Year; Soybeans Lower; Catch-Up Corn, Wheat Export Commitments Continue Higher Than Last Year; Soybeans Lower

Total corn export inspections are up 69% from last year. Soybean inspections are 46% lower than last year. Wheat inspections for 2025-26 are 22% higher than 2024-25. Total corn sales commitments for 2025-26 were up 31% from a year ago as of Nov. 20; soybean sales commitments were 38% lower than a year ago; wheat export sales commitments for 2025-26 were up 23% from a year ago.

OMAHA (DTN) — USDA released its weekly Export Inspections report Monday for the week ended Dec. 11. Total corn inspections were 62.3 million bushels (mb), soybean inspections totaled 29.2 mb, and wheat inspections were 17.9 mb. All inspections were for the 2025-26 marketing year.

Corn inspections totaled 62.3 mb for the week ended Dec. 11. Total inspections for 2025-26 are now at 886 mb, up 69% from the previous year. USDA is estimating corn exports to total 3.200 billion bushels (bb) in 2025-26, up 12% from the previous year. Corn inspections in 2025-26 are running well ahead of USDA’s estimated pace at a time when USDA’s estimate of corn ending stocks is 40% larger than the previous five-year average. 

Soybean inspections totaled 29.2 mb for the week ended Dec. 11. Total inspections for 2025-26 are now at 504 mb, down 46% from the previous year. USDA is estimating soybean exports to total 1.635 bb in 2025-26, down 13% from the previous year. Soybean inspections are running well behind USDA’s estimated pace at a time when USDA’s estimate of soybean ending stocks is less than 1% lower than the previous five-year average.  

Wheat inspections totaled 17.9 mb for the week ended Dec. 11. Total inspections for 2025-26 are now at 519 mb, up 22% from the previous year. USDA is estimating wheat exports to total 900 mb in 2025-26, up 9% from the previous year. Wheat inspections are running ahead of USDA’s estimated pace at a time when USDA’s estimate of wheat ending stocks is 24% larger than the previous five-year average.

OMAHA (DTN) — USDA’s catch-up Weekly Export Sales and Shipments report for the week ended Nov. 20 listed net-corn sales of 72.6 million bushels (mb), for 2025-26. Soybean net sales totaled 85.3 mb for delivery in 2025-26. Wheat net sales were 13.6 mb for 2025-26 and 2026-27 delivery.

For the week ended Nov. 20, 2025, USDA reported an increase of 72.6 mb (1,843,200 mt) of corn export sales in 2025-26 and 0 mb for 2026-27. The week’s export shipments of 60.3 mb were above the 59.2 mb needed each week to achieve USDA’s export estimate of 3.200 billion bushels (bb) in 2025-26. As of Nov. 20, corn export commitments totaled 1.676 mb in 2025-26 and were up 31% from a year ago. That is ahead of USDA’s estimated pace at a time when USDA’s estimate of U.S. ending corn stocks is 40% larger than the previous five-year average.  

For the week ended Nov. 20, USDA reported an increase of 85.3 mb (2,320,700 mt) of soybean export sales in 2025-26 and a decrease of 0 mb for 2026-27. The week’s export shipments of 28.1 mb were below the 29.9 mb needed each week to achieve USDA’s export estimate of 1.635 bb in 2025-26. As of Nov. 20, soybean export commitments totaled 761.4 mb in 2025-26 and were down 38% from a year ago. That is behind USDA’s estimated pace at a time when USDA’s estimate of U.S. ending soybean stocks is less than 1% lower than the previous five-year average.

For the week ended Nov. 20, 2025, USDA reported an increase of 13.3 mb (361,700 mt) of wheat export sales for 2025-26 and an increase of 0.3 mb (7,500 mt) for 2026-27. The week’s export shipments of 16.4 mb were above the 16.3 mb needed each week to achieve USDA’s export estimate of 900 mb in 2025-26. As of Nov. 20, wheat export commitments totaled 679 mb in 2025-26 and were up 23% from a year ago. That is ahead of USDA’s estimated pace at a time when USDA’s estimate of U.S. ending wheat stocks is 24% larger than the previous five-year average.
